Calculate Non Weighted GPA
Non-weighted GPA (also known as unweighted GPA) is the traditional form of grade calculation used by high schools and colleges. The grading system treats all courses equally in terms of grade points. Even though the grading scale is unweighted, it is typical to calculate a weighted average, using the number of credits as weights for each course. Here is an example of a calculation of weighted grades:

This results in an unweighted GPA of 3.47. This is calculated by multiplying the number of credits by the grade points for each class. Then sum these products for each class. Divide the total sum by the total number of credits for the entire schedule.
If this were a weighted GPA, the AP History and Honors Chemistry classes would have received higher grade points, since they are advanced courses. But since this is an unweighted GPA, all classes use the same grading scale.
